Fort Miller (also, Camp Miller, Millerton, Camp Barbour, and Rootville) is a former settlement in what was then Madera County, California.[1][2] It lay at an elevation of 561 feet (171 m).[1] It was located on the south bank of the San Joaquin River in what is now Fresno County some 150 miles upriver from Stockton. The site is now under Millerton Lake formed by the Friant Dam in 1944.
